Front Porch Refresh

I just finished another project with Country Chic Paint and this time I used their color, Bliss. Head on over to their blog for all the details on my bench makeover with this beachy-blue hue.  It is by far my favorite color yet. And it pairs perfectly with my happy door.

The rain somehow missed our part of the state last weekend so we managed to power wash the entire house. It seriously makes such a difference! My front porch always feels cleaner and fresher after a good shower – it simply glows!

There is a concrete shop in town that sells factory seconds at deeply discounted prices. Recently we picked up these urns. I like how they anchor the lower brick walls to the space… Oh, and of course I couldn’t just leave them white so I sprayed painted them in a light aqua, transplanted some of my never-die hosta plants (not sure of the scientific name of this variety – but you seriously can’t kill them) and added a few petunias for color.

Last but not least… my husband has this thing for buckets. Well, you know, he hoards other things too, but buckets are one of his favorite things to find. He just can’t pass them up. His collection includes minnow buckets too. I loved that this one was blue with white writing so I repurposed it into a planter by sticking {yet another} bucket inside it.

A few years ago when I first began blogging, I had a post on how I transformed this old dresser with a teal paint wash… you can find it here. It’s still one of my favorite pieces of furniture!

I swiped this kids’ playhouse rug this season picked up a few pillows at the dollar store. No kidding. And that pretty much concludes my front porch refresh.

Oh, and this little guy who turned 9 this week. Life moves so incredibly fast. He can’t be that old already, can he??? This dear, sweet boy of mine whom we held for hours at a time while he wailed and wailed. Every. Single. Night. And the ONLY place he didn’t cry was right here, on this porch swing, while we rocked and rocked and rocked.
