I finally did it.
These last few summers have been so busy that painting the door was at the bottom of the list. Until I met the folks from Modern Masters at the Haven Conference. I had never heard of their Front Door paint that doesn’t fade and boasts vibrant colors. I was really excited and found several colors that I liked. Then toward the end of the conference they started giving away their paint. By time I visited their booth again, they were down to two colors… a red (aka Motivated) and a yellow (aka Happy). I think it’s pretty clever that they named their paint colors with emotions.Everything about this door and the entryway space is dark. From the exterior the door had no character or personality. I added a yellow wreath this spring in an attempt to brighten the entrance. Color was long over due for this space. And what a difference it makes!

I have an abundance of hydrangeas in my front landscaping, so drying them and using them in my decor is a no brainer.

Corey has been making these beachy, driftwood-style tables recently. I just love their faded hues of blues and the soft colors they add to my space.

When it was all finished, I removed the wreath, shut the door and went on with summer… and then the feedback started pouring in. I’ve received both texts and comments (some from people I don’t know very well) about how fantastic this door looks. It gets attention all by itself. Someone even asked if I had my doors sprayed because the color is so smooth and vibrant… even on this century-old door.
Yes, this new front door makes me very happy – just as the color is aptly named! So much so, that I painted the back door as well.

Love it, just the right pop of color!
