I am crazy about hand-lettered signs and free printables. Who’s with me?
They make even the most simple quotes and sayings into a work of art. I’m always printing freebies to display around my house. I found this free Spring printable from Ella Claire here.
I wanted to make my own hand-lettered printable but I lack any hand-lettering skills (as of yet)… So, today I’m going to share how to add your own hand-lettered printable to a wood sign with Country Chic Paint’s Image Transfer Medium. It’s a great way to fake it.
You can order this transfer medium on their website.
Let’s start with the printable. I’m a huge FAN of vintage fans, so I found a silly quote that would work with my image and faked some hand-lettered typography on my computer with a few (free) creative fonts. Then I printed it out in a reverse or mirror layout.
For the next steps, I created a 5 minute video tutorial to show you just how fantastic this transfer medium is and because I wanted all of YOU to give this project a try yourselves! It’s super easy. I promise. Take a look…
Click here to watch! … and then… Click here to vote for me in Country Chic Paint’s Video Contest! It’s easy, just comment on their blog post. 🙂
Here is how the sign turned out:
This little sign is great way to accent my display of vintage fans in my upstairs hallway.
I hope you enjoyed my little video tutorial and are inspired to give this transfer medium from Country Chic Paint a try! Be sure to share what you come with in the comments!
