DIY | Decorating with Flea Market and Vintage Finds

You are here: Home / Projects / Decorating Ideas / Numbers, numbers, painted numbers.

July 27, 2012

Numbers, numbers, painted numbers.

Okay, so you could say I’m a bit obsessed with numbers right now. I’m seeing all kinds of numbered items on Pinterest, of course. It’s a really easy way to update something that’s already painted.

I think it adds a bit of vintage spirit to your home – and in my case, both indoors and out! My mom recently purchased a Silhouette Cameo machine for me which makes it super easy to design a cool number stencil in any font I choose. I absolutely love everything about typography design and this sort of spins that love into a number fixation!
Kitchen stairs were already painted white, added numbers and a little aging wax.

Try it yourself… Numbers work on nearly everything so you can’t mess this DIY project up. My friend recently painted an old trunk and is using some of my stencils to paint on number on the front of it.

Here are a few places I’ve added numbers recently.
Added a little flair to my kitchen stools.
Added a new deck last summer and added small vintage details this season.
This is a painted memo board tile sold in my shop.
Added a number splash to the corner.
This is an old milk can I found at an auction.
Added some glossy white paint and black numbers to the top.
My mom recently chalk painted this vintage dresser for her entryway.
Added numbers to the drawers for more character.

UPDATE: July 2013

I wanted to share my new kitchen stools. They had to be updated to better compliment my new kitchen island… it’s only a sneak peak of all the changes we are making in our kitchen this summer but I love how versatile it is to work with paint! Change is a snap.
