Good morning friends... Today I'm trying something a little different. This marks the beginning of a new relationship with you - not just pretty pictures of styled spaces. I'm opening the window into my little personal space. In true Kristy form, I wanted to come up with a really clever name, something that sounds like me. But I struggled to think of anything creative or clever. What is something I say all of the time? Or, what is something I do regularly... I wanted this weekly bit to … [Read more...] about What’s on Tap No.1

The Best of 2014
Last year was filled with loads of crafty DIY projects, thrifty picking, repurposed vintage, more house renovations... not to mention too many plans than can be accomplished and bigger dreams than we can afford. Isn't that life? It is for us. My husband and I share this hobby (more like a frenzy sometimes) to fearlessly tackle DIY projects both around the house and for retail. It's not only time we share together, it's our way of putting aside the stresses of the daily grind and really … [Read more...] about The Best of 2014
Painting My Door Yellow and Happy
I finally did it. For years I have begged my husband to paint my front door. 100 years, he says. Why would you paint it now, he asks. I won't do it, he assures me. Okay then, I will. Once I saw a post from the Young House Love bloggers about painting their door yellow (their old house, I think), I was determined to paint mine. I loved yellow. We have a white house with a brick porch and faded blue shutters. When it comes down to it, there isn't a lot you can do that quickly and … [Read more...] about Painting My Door Yellow and Happy
DIY Ottoman Restyle
I'm seeing these little ottomans everywhere. Sometimes they are rounded poufs, while other times they are more like soft cubes or extra large floor pillows. No matter the shape, they are clever little punches of color that double as foot rests and extra seating in whatever room you use them.I first spotted these in the Pottery Barn catalog, but I wasn't ready to spend that much on something soft that might will most likely be chewed apart by our labrador. I can't tell you how … [Read more...] about DIY Ottoman Restyle
DIY Chevron Stairs
From the moment I spied with my little eye this pin on chevron stairs, I was in love. It's no secret how much I adore everything chevron. I realize that many of you may soon tire of this fantastic geo pattern, but I'm positive I never will. And for my small kitchen staircase, it's just what I needed to bridge together my newly painted walls. All it took was a #polarvortex blizzard (which closed my office for two days) to give me the inspiration time I needed to complete this little DIY … [Read more...] about DIY Chevron Stairs
Flea Market Flip: Painted Vases
I'm a flea market junkie but I don't normally browse the glassware. I guess I feel like I already have a lot of it stored in cabinets and frankly I'm running out of storage for pieces that I only occasionally use. However, these two pumpkin-shaped vases caught my eye... and, well, they were only $1. Perfect for fall, RIGHT? I absolutely adore Krylon's Looking Glass spray paint. It turns plain ol' glass into something spectacular. I've used it on old floral vases, ball jars and more. It's … [Read more...] about Flea Market Flip: Painted Vases

DIY Letter Lamp Shade
I've been a little crazy about numbers in 2012. See my post here for details on my number fixation. So, when I needed to buy a new lamp shade for our family-room-turned-game-room, my first thought was to add some numbers to this plain ol' faux burlap shade. Since the boys have taken over this room with their video gaming marathons, I wanted it to be a little whimsical and modern. I'll be honest, this room has been largely ignored as far as decorating is concerned. It used to be a hideout for … [Read more...] about DIY Letter Lamp Shade

Crisp air, falling leaves, fresh apples, and pumpkin-flavored everything... all signs of the season. At our house, it's always a busy time.
