Ok guys... it's finally here! It's part 4, or the FINAL vintage farmhouse kitchen reveal... and it's chock full of happy photos! If there ever was a room that totally and completely defined this eclectic style of ours, it's this one. We know our style isn't for everyone, but it fits us and our addiction to flea market vintage. So, here goes. Catch Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 of our kitchen renovation if you want to see the sum of all the little parts that make up the whole … [Read more...] about Vintage Farmhouse Kitchen Reveal

DIY Painted Bedside Tables
We got a new bed! (We are sharing more details about that here...) So, we took this opportunity to spruce up our bedroom a bit. It wasn't on the DIY agenda, but sometimes when you make one small change it leads to a few more changes. #storyofmyDIYlife Our bedside tables needed to be more narrow so we separated a vintage desk to come up with two identical tables. We painted them with Country Chic Paint in Sunday Tea (limited edition color) and added some Bliss triangles. Get all the … [Read more...] about DIY Painted Bedside Tables
Scrappy Fall Wreath
Nothing screams fall more than a good ol' wreath project. Now that my entryway had been rearranged (after painting my front door yellow), I was ready to start decorating for fall. And, frankly, I was bored last Friday night. Sometimes my best projects are unplanned. My kids love decorating the house for fall, so they were thrilled to see me bring the fall decor tote down from the attic. We sorted through some of the decorations, setting out little pumpkins, spiders and other crafty fall decor … [Read more...] about Scrappy Fall Wreath
DIY Ottoman Restyle
I'm seeing these little ottomans everywhere. Sometimes they are rounded poufs, while other times they are more like soft cubes or extra large floor pillows. No matter the shape, they are clever little punches of color that double as foot rests and extra seating in whatever room you use them.I first spotted these in the Pottery Barn catalog, but I wasn't ready to spend that much on something soft that might will most likely be chewed apart by our labrador. I can't tell you how … [Read more...] about DIY Ottoman Restyle

Flea Market Flip: Painted Vases
I'm a flea market junkie but I don't normally browse the glassware. I guess I feel like I already have a lot of it stored in cabinets and frankly I'm running out of storage for pieces that I only occasionally use. However, these two pumpkin-shaped vases caught my eye... and, well, they were only $1. Perfect for fall, RIGHT? I absolutely adore Krylon's Looking Glass spray paint. It turns plain ol' glass into something spectacular. I've used it on old floral vases, ball jars and more. It's … [Read more...] about Flea Market Flip: Painted Vases
Another Painted Number Dresser
Ok, so all you have to do is type "number dresser" into the Pinterest search engine to know that painting numbers on the front of dresser drawers is quite the trend. Just sayin. And, if there are two things I love to decorate with these days it's chevron and numbers! But, let's be real... chevron really doesn't belong in a boys' bedroom. {If you can prove me wrong with a cool example, I'd love to see it... I would put chevron literally EVERYWHERE if I could - but that's just me!} But … [Read more...] about Another Painted Number Dresser
Chevron Painted Bench Restyle
So, you know my love for chevron (like when I painted my staircase chevron)... even my little guy likes to point out things while we're shopping with (in his own words) "that stripey pattern you like." I really do like chevron pattern. I mean really, really like it. I have applied chevron in various ways - from signs to pillows to furniture. Cue old photos... This is the bench before. The base was already painted a really cool dark gray color and has the perfect … [Read more...] about Chevron Painted Bench Restyle
