Behind the Blog: Home Office & Craft Space
Today I'm going to show you where the magic happens. Instead of a traditional home office, my creative space is a nook carved out of our dining room. For this busy mom, it is an ideal way to multi-task homework, dinner, bills and of course, blog posts and DIY projects - right in the heart of our home! Oh, and this old house wasn't equipped with an office (or even a closet on the first floor). Work with what you've got. Right?!? Behind the Blog Thank you for stopping by our … [Read more...] about Behind the Blog: Home Office & Craft Space
DIY Vintage Shelf Styling
My second furniture makeover is up today on Country Chic Paint's blog... please check it out! We made over a "found" shelf and turned it into a chic cocktail storage area. You'll find my paint colors and techniques over there, so don't miss it! Since we finally painted this shelf during our mini dining room renovation, I spent more time styling these shelves than I had previously. When I was finally done and stepped back to look at it... I thought this little shelf is a mini … [Read more...] about DIY Vintage Shelf Styling
My Country Chic Paint Buffet Makeover
If you want to catch another glimpse of my dining room mini makeover, head on over to the Country Chic Blog today to view my guest post on how I gave this buffet a chic makeover in the color Elegance. Dining Room Restyle Part 1: Home Office
I am so excited to share our dining room mini makeover! To make it last, I'm going to share it in a few parts. Let's start with my home office. You know, for most of my twenties I was very career-driven. I went to college with big dreams and clear goals. I knew what I wanted to be. I wasn't one who changed her mind or her major. Ever. After college I found a great company and continued on my path. Add a few kiddos in the picture and my career goals started to slow down. Add a … [Read more...] about Dining Room Restyle Part 1: Home Office
Painting My Dining & Craft Room
I have a little confession to make. It's been 12 years since I painted my dining room. 12 long years. I hated the color we painted it back then. But it stuck. When we bought this house we said things like "we are never painting any of our walls white" and "we aren't those kind of people" and "let's use bold color everywhere" ... we decided we were going to have a red dining room... but have you ever tried to choose a red paint for your walls? Every color we chose kept showing up pink. Then we … [Read more...] about Painting My Dining & Craft Room
DIY Painted Faux Pumpkins with Vintage Door Knobs
I don't know what it is about vintage door knobs, but we love them here at Robb Restyle. We like to think of them as an architectural fingerprint - sometimes just as unique as the home they were used in - but also sometimes an element long forgotten or taken for granted. We find them in all shapes and sizes and colors - and so much unlike the knobs of doors used in more recent homes. Our workshop has bins of them, collected over many, many years. When we are missing a match for a doorknob … [Read more...] about DIY Painted Faux Pumpkins with Vintage Door Knobs
DIY Farmhouse Table
This post is called a DIY but neither my husband nor I actually built the table. We just painted and stained it. Full table construction credit goes to my bestie Lisa and her husband Ryan Besse. Ryan built this beautiful table for Lisa last year and I just had to have a replica for myself! The top of this farmhouse table is constructed of century old barn wood acquired from Ryan's family farm house. I adored similar farm tables from places like Restoration Hardware but was never willing (or had … [Read more...] about DIY Farmhouse Table
