My husband knows I change my mind. A lot. He's learned this about me over the years. It's not that I'm a terrible decision maker, but rather I like variety. I love to change things up. I get bored easily. It's why I invested in those little furniture mover disks. The last thing Corey wants to do when he walks in the house after a long day is to move the living room furniture around. Again. I've learned this about him over the years. Our living room is long and narrow, so it can be a … [Read more...] about Ideas for Styling Your Staircase

Eclectic & Vintage Mini Holiday Home Tour
It's the most wonderful time of the year... and once again I'm sharing a little glimpse into our home. Feast your eyes on an eclectic and vintage mini holiday tour. This little post may make your head spin... but my house was clean so I couldn't help taking lots of photos of all the pretty things. We are hosting a holiday party for my husband's family this year, so I wanted our home to be extra festive! One thing I tried to do this season was only put out the holiday decorations that I truly … [Read more...] about Eclectic & Vintage Mini Holiday Home Tour
Furniture Flip: A handsome painted chest
Today I'd like to introduce you to Kellie with Design Asylum and Velvet Finishes- one of our new friends from the Haven Conference we attended this summer where we meet up with other DIY-ers, home decor bloggers, interior designers and more! We were talking with Kellie about our love for furniture painting when she casually mentioned that she developed her own special paint recipe - what the what?!? That's right, she's a super cool designer who also decided that none of the paints she was … [Read more...] about Furniture Flip: A handsome painted chest
Retro Kitchen Decor
One of the things I love most about our kitchen space is this little eat-in nook. It's just big enough for a table of 4 and when we're all home at the same time, it's where we eat together! I went for a more farmhouse-style in the main part of my kitchen, but I wanted to incorporate a retro feel in this space to fit in with my 50s laminate table that I refinished! This little kitchen space is brimming with retro-themed decor. For the longest time, we left this table in the basement … [Read more...] about Retro Kitchen Decor
DIY Farmhouse Beadboard Kitchen Backsplash
This project is by far my most favorite thing we did to our kitchen. We love using bead board (or wainscoting - whatever you like to call it) around the house. We have old plaster walls that aren't in the best condition. Bead board is an easy and affordable update for our walls without the mess and cost of fixing the plaster. UPDATE: And, it even landed us in our first magazine! See the details here. Catch up on Part 1 and Part 2 to see how we updated the corner (not shown in this … [Read more...] about DIY Farmhouse Beadboard Kitchen Backsplash
DIY Kitchen Island Makeover (part 2)
The kitchen island (well, it is really more of a peninsula) is a key space in our kitchen. Whomever remodeled our kitchen in the 80s likely put this island in. It's where my kiddos eat breakfast every day. Sometimes homework happens here too. It's the most open piece of countertop for baking, prepping, gathering, eating, etc. And it was ugly. So here's the story on how we made it prettier and managed to repurpose an old architectural corbel to boot. It isn't big. It fits just in … [Read more...] about DIY Kitchen Island Makeover (part 2)
Starry Night Stencil Patriotic Table Makeover
I'm a child of the 80s. And to be honest... until recently when I thought of stencils (or the art of stenciling) my mind would fill with images of primitive decor and painted amish kids sitting next to bent willow trees with a heart in between them. I have memories of my mom dragging a ladder around the dining room to stencil a floral border on the wall near the ceiling. Many of you may have done the same. (She has since painted over them. She will read this and would want me to mention it. … [Read more...] about Starry Night Stencil Patriotic Table Makeover
Country Chic Paint & Me

DIY Painted Faux Pumpkins with Vintage Door Knobs
I don't know what it is about vintage door knobs, but we love them here at Robb Restyle. We like to think of them as an architectural fingerprint - sometimes just as unique as the home they were used in - but also sometimes an element long forgotten or taken for granted. We find them in all shapes and sizes and colors - and so much unlike the knobs of doors used in more recent homes. Our workshop has bins of them, collected over many, many years. When we are missing a match for a doorknob … [Read more...] about DIY Painted Faux Pumpkins with Vintage Door Knobs
